Tochi Ramen, Hartford.

A ramen name the region already knew, returning after years away from the local scene — this time in a smaller town, under new ownership and new management, with a menu that had to reintroduce the restaurant rather than introduce it.

The Situation

The goal: Reintroduce a recognized name in a new location, make the menu impossible to miss, and get people through the door for the comeback.

The Tochi name carries real local recognition, but it had been absent from the scene for years — so the site had to acknowledge the return without leaning on old reputation alone.

This location sits in a smaller town than the original, under new ownership and management, so visitors needed to quickly understand that this is the same name they remember with a fresh team behind it.

Ramen still needs a small amount of explaining to a first-time local diner without talking down to them.

Diners decide on their phones, usually within a few minutes, so the menu, hours and address had to come first.

What The Site Does

  • Menu-forward homepage with featured bowls
  • Full menu page with descriptions and pricing
  • Location, hours and click-to-call in the header
  • Local search structure for a returning business in a new town
  • Space reserved for online ordering

Approach

The Decisions We Made.

Let the food carry the brand

Photography of the actual bowls drives the page, paired with short copy that establishes the restaurant as independent and chef-led — the return people hoped for, not just a name on a sign.

Menu as the main event

Featured bowls with real descriptions and prices appear on the homepage, with the full menu a single tap away from every screen.

Built to be found locally

Location, hours, phone and city context are structured so search engines and map results connect the restaurant to Hartford immediately, catching both the people searching the name and the people searching 'ramen near me.'

Ready for what comes next

The layout leaves clear room for online ordering as it comes online, rather than requiring a rebuild later.

Scope

  • Website design
  • Relaunch content
  • Local SEO setup
  • Hosting & management

The restaurant relaunched with a site that answers the only three questions a hungry local has: what is it, what's on the menu, and where do I go — while reminding the people who already knew the name that it's back.
