Honest Comparison
Digital Harvest vs Cheap Freelancers.
There are excellent freelancers. The problem is that the cheapest ones and the best ones look identical until after launch.
Cheap Freelancers may make sense if…
- Tightly defined single-page projects
- Businesses with a trusted freelancer they've worked with before
- One-off design work alongside an existing site
- Very constrained budgets where something is better than nothing
Digital Harvest may make sense if…
- A company that's still here in three years when you need a change
- Hosting, security, backups, updates and monitoring included
- SEO structure in scope from day one, not an upsell
- Ownership that's genuinely yours — your domain, content and images, full access via our customer portal, and complete file backups
Where It Gets Limiting
What To Watch For With Cheap Freelancers
- Availability disappears — the most common failure isn't bad work, it's an unanswered email
- Hosting, security, backups and updates are typically not included
- SEO structure is usually out of scope, so the site never gets found
- No continuity if the freelancer changes careers or gets busy
- Handoffs are often incomplete, leaving you unable to make changes

Our Verdict
The Honest Answer.
If you've got a great freelancer, keep them. If you're picking one from a marketplace based on price, understand that you're buying a build, not a relationship — and that the maintenance bill arrives eventually either way.
